Harnessing solar energy at FUX Zrt. – An important step towards a sustainable future

As such, the company applied for a GINOP tender in 2020, which resulted in the expansion of its energy production capabilities with a modern solar panel system. Since 2022, electricity is provided by a solar power system with nearly 1 Megawatt of power, which significantly reduces the energy costs of the company. A total of 2,542 panels were installed on the factory halls, covering a surface area of nearly 4,700 square metres.

Continuous operation of the plants were considered during this development, resulting in an overall smooth installation process. The total net cost of the project was 181 million forints and it also received 99 million forints worth of funding from the European Union. This investment, which was realized with the involvement of the solar panel company PV Napenergia Kft., not only reduces the energy costs of FUX Zrt., but also contributes to a greener and more sustainable future in the long term.

The annual energy consumption of FUX Zrt. is 3.7 million kilowatt-hours. In 2024, the company covered over 27% of its annual electricity consumption with renewable sources, which significantly contributed to the reduction of its carbon dioxide emission.

The nearly 35 year old family business remains dedicated towards the usage of renewable energy sources and plans to implement additional developments within the field in the future.
