Renewed laboratory of the University of Miskolc and FUX Zrt. bears the name of Dr. Márton Voith

The cooperation between FUX Zrt. and the University of Miskolc has reached a new level: following the handover ceremony of the renewed and modernized joint materials testing lab, the parties also renewed their long-term partnership.

The outstanding moment of the occasion was the unveiling of the laboratory name plate, which was chosen to honour the professional legacy of metallurgical engineer and university professor Dr. Márton Voith. The naming choice is also symbolic gesture since it serves as a confirmation of the values shared by both the industry and the university, which are knowledge, engineering excellence and commitment toward innovation.

During the event, the renewal of the cooperation agreement was solemnly signed by Dr. István Barkóczi, the owner and chairman of the board of FUX Zrt., and Prof. Dr. Zita Horváth, the rector of the University of Miskolc. With the signing of the agreement, the parties confirmed the continuation of their joint work, ensuring the continued operation and development of the lab in the upcoming years.

The laboratory, which was established in 2010, has become one of the defining regional centres of industry – university cooperation over the past decade. The aim of the current development is to further strengthen the role of the facility in the fields of engineering training and research and development as well as to create a closer link between the scientific and industrial spheres.

Work in the lab strongly supports innovations for the cable and conductor industries, while also offering practical experience for students in a real industrial environment.

‘For us, this lab represents not only a location for development but also a workshop for future engineers where knowledge meets practice directly.’

— Dr. István Barkóczi, owner and chairman of board, FUX Zrt.

‘It is highly important for the University of Miskolc that our students are able to work in a real industrial environment during their training, as it provides them with competitive knowledge.’

— Prof. Dr. Zita Horváth, rector of the University of Miskolc.

‘Such co-operations strengthen the economy of the region and ensure the continued development of both Miskolc and the county as an industrial centre.’

—Tamás Bihall, president of BOKIK.

The renewed lab, the naming and the renewal of the cooperation are all important milestones in the jubilee year of FUX Zrt., which celebrates the 35th anniversary of the company.

The message of the event is clear: the industry of the future is built on close cooperation between education, innovation and corporate knowledge.
